I would like to mention that this being my first brand new car experience with knowledge of how negative sales people can be. Here at Clair Toyota in West Roxbury mass, I had a wonderful experience. My father in law has referred 5 people not including myself to buy cars from here. I negotiated the entire deal in Spanish with some a great sales person named Doug. They were so helpful and let me create my car the exact way I wanted it even though they had to change a couple of things right after they prepared everything for signatures. The sales people here are so patient and courteous. I love love love my new XD. Its fun to drive and fits my personality to a T with low monthly payments and great coverage through Toyota :) Thanks so much!!! YAY!

My boyfriend and I went into Clair Scion after deciding we wanted a new 2nd car, and since our other car is an s.u.v, we really wanted something better for city driving, better on gas, etc. Before going to Clair, we had visited a few other dealers in the area, of different model cars that were comparable to the XD. At the other dealerships, not only were the cars not as good looking, they had less safety features standard, less necessary features like the stereo controlled ipod connection standard. Also, and in some ways more importantly, until we got to Clair and dealt with Michael Burke, we were not very satisfied with the level of service we got. Michael was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and did not try to force us to take a car or options we did not want. He was attentive every step of the way, and made it a great experience! We got a really nice XD, it has all that we wanted, and the price was incredible. We could not be more happy!Go see Michael Burke!

I came to this dealership after going to expressway Toyota, which sucked. I have been to Herb Chambers also, and they are not that great either. Clair Scion were up front with me, gave me the best deal (which led me to adding man accessories), so overall a very good experience. I had a wonderful sales experience with Clair Scion but the service/warranty department is really dropping the ball. The tailgate handle to my 2006 Scion tC simply snapped off in my hand after I had unlocked the hatchback. The part had to have been defective; I didn't pull up with anything except my normal pull. The service department won't cover it under warranty claiming that I used 'excessive force'. I'm trying to resolve it with the help of the national Scion people, before going to arbitration, but I am deeply disappointed in how the dealership is not honoring the warranty.
Hopefully I can update this review at a later date with a positive review about the service department.

I recently purchased an 06' xB for my mother and everything was perfect! The staff was knowledgeable and there was no pressure at all from them to seal the purchase. Even when I go to get my car serviced, they always take the utmost of care with handling and servicing my car! I have had my car serviced at a few other dealers that will remain unnamed but Clair has exceeded my expectations to the point that I will go there from now on. I am the type of individual that doesn’t like anyone touching my car other than myself. However I came across an issue that I knew nothing about and I sought help from the professionals. Making an appointment was a breeze. I dropped the car off and was in and out in minutes. I had the pleasure of dealing with Maria in service who was extremely courteous and helpful. I had a scheduling conflict with the hours the service dept. was open but she made arrangements and I was able to get my car after hours. My car was fixed in a timely manner and I received a phone call the second it was done. I highly recommend that you have your vehicle serviced at this dealership.

I didn't buy my tC at Clair Scion, but they have helped me out so greatly. Especially the Scion Service Rep Maria. I was having car trouble and I was stuck in Wareham with a tC that didn't want to start. I called Maria and she drove all the way down from Boston to Wareham to try to fix my problem, but no luck. So she called a tow company and we got my car towed to Clair Scion and now my problem is being checked out. We ended up getting home at around 4:30 in the morning. Clair Scion is the best, and their customer service is very top notch.

This was the first time I bought a new car and was anticipating the usual car buying experience (especially as a single woman!) - and was pleasantly surprised that my expectations were changed.
The entire experience was great. I felt completely empowered, welcomed and not intimated at all. The entire staff from my dealer Joe, to the finance guy Matt to the receptionist was very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.

Whew. What an ordeal. I went to several different dealerships in the Boston area figuring that since the price of the car is the same, I'd rather be paying a commission to a dealer I actually like. Joe Witt at Clair Scion is a great guy--very honest, knowledgeable, and non-pressuring. Being in my twenties, I felt I could relate to Joe a lot more than some of the sleaze balls I met at other dealers.
It's a good thing I like Joe, because he and I got to spend a good deal of time together as one thing after another went wrong with my car. Again and again I was told that the car would be ready on a certain day, and again and again I'd get a call saying it wasn't there/ready and would be soon. It got infuriating. We ended up waiting at the dealer for six hours yesterday while the guys in the service department tried to figure out how to put on my spoiler. Give me a break! I would highly recommend Joe Witt, but I can't honestly recommend Clair Scion.

Love my car. No real surprises or refreshing experiences to report. Dealer was fine but felt like a car dealer. Was disappointed when I returned to the dealership only three days after buying my car and discovering that one of the wheel covers was broken. Waited for 25 minutes before someone informed me they would need to order the part. Waited another 10 minutes while they found the person who had my car keys. Expected some kind of acknowledgment or apology for the inconvenience but received nothing. I'm glad I have the car I wanted but don't know that I'll return to Clair for service.

Myself working a local boston "tuner shop" and being one of the few modified xB's in the area met Jim through my job. I'll be the person doing majority of his engine work ;). Since i've had a few problems with dealers local to me (north shore) i decided to goto Clair since Jim seemed like a really cool guy. Anyways my g/f and I decided on a 06 tC SW, unfortunately none were anywhere to be found, and after MANY of Jim's attempts to locate us one left us emtpy handed still. For some reason we must've wanted a new tC at the same time as everyone else because no one in the NE had the tC we wanted. But in the end Jim (and Javier) came through and my g/f picked up the car earlier today, so now i won't have to hold Jim's turbo kit for hostage ;).
Bottom line ;
Great staff - Jim and Javier are great guys
and when the replacement of the xB arrives i'll be purchasing it from Clair Scion.

While I did not buy my tC at Clair Scion I can say that I will be returning to Clair Scion for regular maitenance work. Jim over at Clair is readily available via scionlife.com boards (PM him and he gets back to you fast), and Bill in maitenance will take care of you, get you in and out quickly. Above and beyond this, I found that the people at Clair dont view Scions as a red-headed step child of a Toyota or Lexus, THET ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING...which cant be said for the dealership where I purchased my tC. I also had a good experience at Clair's. Since it was my first time buying a car I was a little nervous and skeptical of dealerships in general. But when I arrived the sales people were extremely informative helping me to understand every detail. Even when my visit lingered on the salesman showed no signs of anger or frustration. In the end I decided on the xB. They had the color and model right their in the lot I went home that day with my new xB and I couldn’t be happier, it makes driving in Boston a joy again. Especially fitting into parking spots. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend you check Clair Auto out.

Unlike the other review I thought Clair Scion was great, they answered all my questions and needs on the tC and they were great presenting the accessories. They had the sport pedals I wanted and the obx shift knob. They have a young person who I guess is their manager, he was great because it was easy to relate to him. They were very honest, and helped me find the color I wanted. They have pretty good inventory and the had the color I wanted. The rest of the staff was great, the buying process was awesome I thought. I went to a bunch of other stores and a lot of them did not treat me great. Clair was excellent and helped out so much. Overall it was a great experience and I recommend Clair to anyone interested. The young Scion manager was great to deal with and he had a good Scion rep that helped me as did he, it was excellent.

I just want to state that I had a negative experience at Clair Toyota/Scion in West Roxbury(Boston) on the VFW Parkway. On Wed. 11-10-2004. I was looking at an xA RS 1.0 which was loaded with extra options and the cost was up to just under $19,000. I knew I was going to end up rolling some of my current loan into the next one so I was looking to keep the initial cost down. While my friends and my self were test sitting the car, an older salseman approached us and stated "Wow, you guys all fit in there!" This wasn't a great way to open the conversation in my opinion. I then aksed if there was any way of getting the same vehicle without any of the extra options. He repeatedly stated that the only way to obtain an xA RS 1.0 was with ALL those options (b-pillar aplique, gas door aplique, xm radio, cup holder ilumination, 6-disc radio, etc.) I then asked if it was available with only the $2,200 RS option. Again he harshly replied that it was out of the question and could not be done. The car only came as it was shown on that sticker. We acknowledged that "this" particular one in the showroom was already optioned out that way, but we would like to possibly order one only with the RS option and nothing else. He again was abrupt an stated that it could only come with all the extra options. At this point I decided that we should leave. I believe this salesman was uninformed and didn't know his product, or was just trying to squeeze some extra pennies to up the sales figures. I ended up buying my xA RS 1.0 the next day from Expressway Toyota in Dorchester (Boston).
