Hi all,
I just received email notification ( I signed up for new product notifications for the XD on their web site) that the Typhoon Air intake is available for the XD.
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=69-8615TS
They claim "Estimated Horsepower Gain: 5.45 HP @ 5300 RPM" |

| its too bad the word estimated is used. its great that these products are coming out, but where is the dyno support to back them up? doing a run on the dyno has got to be the easiest part of researching an aftermarket part, and i cant stand it when companies skip this step for a product specifically designed to increase power. if anyone can find a dyno of it, thatd be great. |

Hmmm. This is interesting.
5 HP is pretty minor, but the improvement looks consistant through the band. I am also impressed by the dyno data compared to the Fujita. The K&N data shows the SAME humidity and an INCREASE in ambient when the K&N was tested. The Fujita dyno is on two different days and the ambient temp is LOWER on the day the intake was tested.
This looks like the real deal. The question remains, how much are you willing to pay for 5 HP? Most folks can't feel a difference that small.
That said, I am still considering this one...

| Let's all email Fujita and request they redo their dyno of the CAI for the xD. I'd love to see a better dyno sheet from Fujita for that CAI as well before I plunk down $220. |
