| I have the paint and all the supplies I need to paint my rear drums, axles up front, and maybe calipers all black. Then I'm going to tint the tails, and put eyelids on the front. When I have time. Hahah |

im really not a fan of painting drums, and i dont like only having the front calipers done... though i think it still looks better then painting the rears. reminds me of so many civics/accords driving around with bright blue/red drum brakes. ugh.
i wont be painting mine until i can get discs back there. silver, black, or another dark color would look best though. tmrepp, about painting the axles, are talking about painting the actual drive link from the tranny to the wheel? ive never seen that i dont think. definitely post up some pics when you do it. |

| I was thinking of doing the calipers in black actually, just haven't had the time or will to get the stuff needed. Wouldn't the paint on the rear drums come off after a while or is there a specific way of painting those? |

painting the outside of the drum is the same as painting the calipers. you arent painting the actual braking surface. just use a good high temp paint, like engine paint.
you know, black wouldnt look bad at all, and i may actually do it. i think it will just make the parts look cleaner, but still stock. |

| I agree pickledchang. I think black would make it look cleaner, and I'm not really about to be like, "Hey look at my drum brakes!" though silver would bring out my black rims. Yeah, I'll probably go black. |

| from what i remember without having to go out and look, the stock calipers and drums are that faded gray/black with occasional stains here and there. they would definitely look nicer with a black semi-gloss on them without attracting more attention. |

I hate seeing colored calipers unless its factory or real aftermarket brakes (baer, wilwood, ssbc).. I painted mine black.. I figure black makes things disappear, if you have nice looking wheels, the calipers shouldnt take the look away.. just my 2¢..
(and yes i drive an xb not an xd.. but figured, for calipers doesnt really matter what you drive) |
