Before you go all crazy with the comments, I just wanna know how I should drive the car once i go turbo and drive it to the tuner.
It's about 30 miles away and I kinda want to save money on towing service if it's not really neccessary.
so... the question is, is it ok to drive about 30 miles with the turbo without tune? |

| Well...to be safe NO!.....Just get the car towed to your tuner...If you spent 4-5k on a turbo and all the extras...you can spend $300-$400 on towing it... |

| Think of towing it as insurance that nothing bad is going to happen to all that money that you just invested in your car. I mean sure, you can take the chance (regardless of severity of said chance)... but you're playing with thousands of dollars. |

| Drive it normal, thre way it seems right now our ecu can make adjustments to handle low boost 5-6 psi. I am not saying beat the piss out of it but you should be able to drive with no problem to your tuner. |

| Are you F-ing Stupid.... J/K! It might run a little lean, but shouldnt hurt for a short period of time... I would suggest going the speed limit and shift kinda low to keep rpms down... |

If you have to drive it, load up a base map, stay out of boost, don't go over 55mph on the highway, stay the flip out of boost, have a friend go with you to watch the AFR, stay out of boost.
Oh and don't go into boost. |

| Carbon did forget one important thing, though. You need to stay out of boost if you do run without a tune. |

| Are you an AAA member or have road side assistance on your cell phone? Might try getting them to tow the vehicle there. I'd be worried driving the vehicle 30 miles untuned.... |

Wow, I can't believe I forgot the most important thing
Scion RSA won't tow you to a tuner and AAA will tow you to the nearest facility. If you know someone with a truck, just rent a dolly and tow it over yourself. |

that means that if you break down on the side of the road due to no fault of your own, they will pay for a tow truck to take it to the nearest toyota/scion dealership, but if you f-up your car with a turbo...and break down, they will not cover it. |

if anything call any of ur friends to see if they have triple A plus... regular triple A grants roughly 14 miles of free towing... whereas triple A plus grants 120 miles... for my talon, whenever she broke down, i'd get her towed as if it were my personal car carrier taxi lol.
and b4 i got my own triple A, i used my roomates all the time... and all i needed was his card. |

| i just had a crazy idea.. what if i install the turbo and not the pipings? Just let the turbo spool when i'm on the way there and just slap on the pipings when i get to the tuner |

| Big NO, Can definitely damage your turbo. Just hook it up dont beat it and get to your tuner. You will be fine. |

| You can drive it. Just stay out of boost as mentioned above. Or you could leave the piping off and drive it. I have done that before to get to the tuner. Just make sure you run your oil feed and return lines so the turbo is lubricated. The only way it will damage the turbo is if something falls inside it. |
