I know in the non RS xD it just twists off. I can only assume the RS shift knob would also twist off.

just in case they used a diffrent shift knob, check around the base of the knob for any tiny hex key screws. some of the after market knobs ive installed use them to hold the knobs on. if it's the stock one, theres nothing that should stop it from coming off in its design( holding it right now lookin at the inside)

havn't seen any aftermarket boots in my searches for aftermarket items for the XD yet. it would have to be XD specific to fit the center console bezel thought.

www.redlinegoods.com makes a leather shift-boot for the Yaris. it may work since the XD and Yaris share the factory boot. (similar anyway). I had a Yaris for a week and I'm pretty sure it's the same.

I have both a shift boot and a e-brake boot on the way from Redlinegoods.com that they make for the Yaris. I will let you know if they fit as soon as I get them.

UPDATE:
I placed the order for my boots on 7/22/08
They were custom and not stock, red leather with black stitching.
They shipped on 7/25. Awesome turn around.
Estimated delivery date is 08/05. Not bad from Poland.
I just really hope they fit :)
From looking at pics of the Yaris, they look identical.
Maciek (the contact) was a pleasure to deal with and very responsive and fast via email with answers prior to my order.
Seeing the product will be the ultimate test, but so far I will call my dealings with them exemplary. |
