I've been pondering over the idea that maybe for a first gen xB to have a k20a swapped into it.
I understand the mods required would be completely extensive and probably not worth the money and time to do all of it.
Does anyone have any sort of opinion about all this?
It'd definitely be cool to see or do a completely different swap or any swap at all with an xB. |

I work at Acura and already looked at this..
you would have to get an intake manifold made just for this application (front/back its too wide with the manifolds,
exhaust/intake) the block fits good though.. axles made and there is a possibilty that the trans/eng combo needed is too wide. This swap would be the funk and is doable, but cash and time , and possible core support/firewall modification,
are definetly a given. |

So then I wasn't the only one to dream up of such a swap.
I figured there'd be some problems with the transmission.
The main concern were the electronics and how everything was going to be wired up correctly. |

| you have to run the Honda harness, sensors, PCM, and gauge cluster.. figuring where and how, is the fun part, after getting the drivetrain in.. |

Sounds like a task a whole group should work on.
I still think it'd be a pretty kick butt idea if it was done correctly.
Plus the fabrication and all that stuff..is just..a learning experience. |

Yeah.. everyone at my shop was down to do it.. but me!!
lol, dont want to hack my baby up, but I would consider it on a rebuilt title.. there is a junk yard with a front end wreck RS1 here.. hmm
Anyway.. the B weighs so much less than the RSX.. it would be very sick |

I'd definitely down if I could only find some people who would want to help me do it.
I'm not really ready to just hack away at my car either.
If it was done on a sort of demo xb and see how badly you'd have to mod it to make it work then maybe I'd go ahead and do it with mine.
I just figured since they did a K20a swap in a Lotus Exige and Totyota MR2 Spyder and like little Honda Fits and CRX's it'd be doable on an xb
Besides who wouldn't want to see an xb just flying down a highway or kicking butt and taking names? :P |

it would be a lot less of a problem to just get an xB engine and do a full build on it, top of the line everything and swop it when your done.
thats what im going to do at some point.
i bet you could get it to push around 250 - 300 HP
this motor has been around for some time and thare are alot of interals available, maybe not as meny as a k20 but you can still find enough to make it worth the effort.
i saw one guy that had
- Turbo Toyota's turbo kits with upgraded Garrett GT28RS turbo.
- Porflow fully built & ported head
- Web cam Camshafts
- Fully sleaved block
- Cunningham Rods
- CP Pistons |

It just doesn't seem like these little engines could push so much power out considering there is hardly anyone who makes internals for these engines...but I guess I haven't really researched enough about them to know.
I did see a post of some guy doing a rebuild of his engine with a Celica GTS donor engine.
That seemed pretty cool.
It would be nice to hit the 200 mark at least.
All I know is..these xb's are lighter than other cars and they have potential to be pretty fast (despite the aerodynamics). |

you can definatley make power with the 1nzfe.. your cost would be much lower than the K20 swap
don't forget you can look up internals for the yaris and vitz (1nz-fe).. |

Missed you at the game the other day, I ended up leaving early. Don't really see you around in the PAC NW threads, you should stop by and say hi! |
