I just bought a new set of K sport coilovers and absolutely love them. I have only one problem, I am getting an alignment next week and want to make sure I have the car sitting where I will enjoy it, but be able to drive it. I have the rear slammed all of the way down, which with my 18's allow them to tuck just a bit and sit the car level with the sideskirts at like 4 1/2" from the ground. I was told to adjust the preload a little bit to stiffen it up so that my tires dont rub the fender.

So, I gues s my question is, how do I preload the spring and/or adjust the dampener to have the fender sit closer to the tire, but have the suspension stiff enough to keep from touching, ie faster rebound or recoil.

Thanks!

So I made a call in to K Sport this morning and was told that the coilovers I have include the softest springs in the front. So I went ahead and ordered a set of the stiffest springs they have for the gen 1.

Just an FYI, I was told that these stiffer springs are still very streetable.

I will post the difference in ride quality after they are installed.

I was also told that preloading the spring like I was previously told to do, would only wear out components faster and cause more bounce in the suspension due to being under so much tension at static height.

As far as adjustments go, I believe the dampening setting will not allow the car to sit lower. You would have to raise the lower arm of the strut to lower the car and pray for no rubbing. I was thinking of preloading the spring too, but because it was not suggested, I didn't do it.

I get rubbing when I go over big bumps or dips, and I think the only way to solve that is more neg camber or moving the fender out, or in your case stiffer springs.

I had my k sports at the stiffest setting and it was pretty jarring. For daily driving I have mine set at the softest setting and still have great handling.

I am really interested to hear about the differences in the springs that you get!!!

So I was told by K sport that I wouldn't have to sign for my package, but instead of leaving the box, FedEx left a signature required note. So, I get to wait until tomorrow to get my springs.
