|
|
I JUST picked up my Hot Lava xD last night!!! Yahoo - very cool. Question, I plugged in my iPod Nano and it plays, but I have no control over it through any radio controls - have to use the nano itself. I checked the compatability in the book and it stated a Version number is that the iPod software? Mine is the iPod Nano and it's at software 1.3.1, which is more recent than what the book shows, but still nothing. Also tried my daughter's 3rd generation Nano and the same thing. Am I missing something?
Also, quick question - where do I find the # of my car, since this is a limited edition of 2000?
Thanks! |

There should be a plaque to the left of the steering wheel with your RS#.
Are you using your iPod cable or just the auxiliary cable? It won't work with the auxiliary. You should have received one of each when you picked up your car. |

| The radio says "iPod" Direct Control....the volume control works, but nothing else. What is the other 'aux' cable for? |

Ok I found it the radio is in direct control mode if you have the book for the radio the instructions are on page 19
What you need to do is turn the power off on the radio then press and hold the audio control button until the ipod direct control menu comes up then turn the volume button to turn the direct control off. That should fix the prob.
And the aux cable is used through the head phone jack if you don’t have an ipod so for other mp3 players |

So can you turn off the radio direct control and leave the iPod connected to the iPod cable, and use the iPod to control playback? I don't really like navigating through the artists and playlists on the audio, it's slow, and it times out when I'm trying to turn or whatever while driving. |

Yes you can also you can play videos if you have an ipod video and hear the sound through your car radio.
And it is hard to find specific songs through the radio the best way to deal with that is to create playlist |
