| Posted: 8/20/08 4:37PM Post subject: Push button start and CLOCK COLOR question ??? |
|
|
Just got this new toy installed and love it ! I thought I'd share it with you guys. The color perfectly matches the blue on my Scion Nav. The Pivot start button also serves as a simple security device.
Question - does anybody know how to change the amber color of the clock to something more attractive ?
Also, has anyone seen the JDM iST interior dome lights in person ? Was curious if it's worth $200 tag ))
Cheers ! |

I don't see why not, it has to do with ignition. To put it simple: you disconnect the wire and put the switch/relay in between.
But, don't take my word on it, email the company to make sure ! |

Easy to install, but takes some good tools to precisely drill a 22mm hole and remove the inside ribs from the plastic plug/dash insert.
Please read the manual:
http://www.pivotracing.com/files/1995247/uploaded/SSK-e.pdf
it explains how it works...
Good luck ! |

| I thought you added the factory one, hahaha! The ist has a smartkey option in Japan. I was contemplating adding the system... it'll be expensive, but damn awesome! |

I agree, that would be awesome ! Do you have any idea on the price ? I think it'll be something totally unrealistic ...
I wrote to somebody in the leather seats thread today - I'll go buy me a Lexus before I spend $10-15 G's on customizing the xD )))
The Pivot button is really neat, high quality and made in Japan. Cost with installation - under $200 ! ))) |

What's the idea with the remote start ? How do you like it to work ?
Honestly I'm not DIY kind of guy, so I'd suggest you email pivotracing.com |

That's the one I wanted originally, but I'm pretty sure what you get for $150 is the button ONLY. In Japan this button comes with the smart key system on Toyota iST. You approach the car with the remote in your pocket > the car "recognizes" you > doors unlock > you get in and just push the button ! No key in ignition. Pretty cool system. Not available here and very expensive to import/install.
Does your source have any other interesting toys ? |

Yep, button only, though it wouldn't be difficult wiring it to function (using a turbo timer harness).
The smart key option requires an entirely different dash harness as well as the control unit, button, and rfid key. The aftermarket is working on this now.
My source can get me any part for any japanese car. In fact my source, being in japan, gets anything they sell in japan. :D shipping OTOH is a pain, unless he's flying here to the states or I'm heading there. Usually we'll load up 40 ft containers and wait the 3 weeks it takes to get to the east coast. |
