|
|
I bought some speakers on ebay a few days ago, and was eager to see exactly how to install them & prepare everything.
I took off the rear door panel, and began to panic when i saw a 5.25" speaker...the ones I ordered are all 6.5. After some research online I found that the cutout is bigger and theoretically i should be able to fit my speakers in there.
Now i have a problem, how in the world do I take this speaker out? i dont see any bolts!

You're kidding, right?
There's 1 screw behind the handle that's behind the little cup. Use a small flathead screwdriver to pop out the cup. There's another screw holding the door pull/window switch area. After that, it's just tug o war. Just pull on the panel and it will pop off. I start from the bottom and work my way up. Easy peezy 1 2 3eezy. |

If you're serious...i could. There is nothing to it, a lot easier than any of the other cars I've had to deal with before. |

WTF?! Rivets? Do the fronts have them too?
I've never owned a car with rivets holding the speakers in place. C'mon scion how much more would it have cost to put 4 bolts there... |

Yep. Fronts have them, too...
IIRC, all Scions have speakers rivetted. I'm pretty sure it would cost labor costs down. It's a lot easier to equip and program a robot with a pop rivet gun than bolts, washers, and nuts... |
