|
|
I just bought a base 08 head unit off ebay and am looking for the ipod connector cable (sc12235). I have checked around and was not able to find one.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to find one?
Thanks!

| Search for Seller billc41 he sells a complete cable that goes from the back of the head unit to the IPOD directly or I believe he also has one that replaces the factory harness from the back of the unit to the were the connector would be it you had the upgraded unit. |

Thanks for the contact info. It looks like more of the cables will be up soon.
I am pretty confident that the 08 H/U will work in the older Scions. I will post after I try it out. |

The 08 headunit will work in a 2006.5 xB.
The previous model years did not have the auxillary wiring harness to support the iPod enabled headunits.
Quite honestly, the stock HU is flawed. If you have a lot of tracks on your iPod, navigation of them is painful.
You'll sit there twisting the knob for several minutes before finding what you want. Aftermarket headunits can often be found cheaper than the stock ones, offer better iPod control and better sound. Plus, you don't have to worry about tracking down harnesses. |

They will work in all models Toyota hasn't changed there stock harness in over a decade.
Now you won't have the 3.5 aux output unless you get the wiring for that too or the steering wheel controls but the rest will work and if you get the Ipod harness that will work too.
Oh and the beauty if you get the premium '08 unit you get all the preouts of a Aftermarket with the look of a OEM unit. It's nice because if people look in they see a stock unit and don't think much of my car's audio system |

The ipod interface cables are back up on ebay. There are 3 more for $70 shipped (to find it search "SC12235").
Thanks for the help folks! |

Dropping the 70-100 coins for all of the aux wiring + the cost of the HU itself, you can get something aftermarket for less, and get better sound. |
