TRD Lowering kit for 2008 scion tc

I'm close to buying the lowering kit for my TC. I called the parts department at my scion dealership about it and they said they only saw two springs for $199.99 which led him to say that the full lowering kit for all four wheels would be close to $400.00. He wasn;t sure though. For anyone that bought the lowering kit was it $199.99 for the whole thing?

yes, it would be 199.99 for the whole thing, but you're better off going to trdsparks.com and ordering them for 25$ cheaper, plus free shipping...why not save where you can?

Go to TRDsparks.com and get the TRD lowering springs from them....
Or was that the price for TRD springs and struts??+install....

Dude my dealership charged me $360 something for my intallation. If you can find someone else to install em for cheaper, i suggest you do so. I didnt know they were gonna charge me so much for it...until i got to the cashier window. Intall also took like 8 hours...

are the springs worth the $200.00, is the drop noticable to a person that is just looking at the car?

8 hours!! That is beyond rediculous, I 'd have to double check but the time and labor guide for this install is not more than 2 hours which at my dealership would have been only about $150.00.

its noticeable slightly, it just depends on how much of a drop your looking for. check the suspension threads for some pics and what springs they've used.

Right but at the shop you have lifts and spring compressors, now that I'm at work I have the actual price that we charge and it is $299 but that also includes the 4 wheel alignment that you would need to get anytime you alter the suspension.

It's a matter of opinion and comparison, but yes, I think they're certainly worth $200. Drop was great, definitely noticeable, but not so much that it adversely effects suspension geometry, as going lower often does.

Many dealers aren't doing or even recommending alignment when they install the TRD springs. This was the case at my dealer, where they said they only do it if there's an issue afterward. I was skeptical, having always had alignment done after suspension changes on other cars in the past. After close to 13k miles, it appears they were correct, as my tire wear is completely even across the tread on all 4 corners. Just saying FWIW.

I'm thinking the same thing, it definately recommends it in the install.

the allignment is a must when messing with suspension, but not right away for a spring install. wait about 2 weeks for the springs to settle for an allignment.

It took me a buddy a whole day to install my springs. Mainly because we were goofing around and had a slight problem with the rear struts not seating properly. It cost us nothing but 40 bucks for the compressor and we used the autozone loan a tool program so we got it right back at the end of the day. I recommend using an air wrench if you can. cranking two bolts 500 times for each strut is not fun lol.

national tire and battery if you have one near where you live can do an alignment for 75 for 2 alignments, which is perfect because you have to come back after a few weeks when it settles.

DIY or have somone do them for you. Don't go to the dealership. I had Munch do mine right out in the street outside his house. I think he charged 125, but that was a year ago so i might be wrong. I think TRDs are the only ones you don't need to align. if you have any other drop you def need to. With the Hotchkis drop you could tell with your bare naked eye how out of wack the wheels were LOL! My car was like this: /=\

and yes the drop is noticible. I had to relearn how to get out of my car cuz I kept slammin my heal into the ground after i got the drop. Its especially noticeable if you park next to a stocker.
