Recently I clipped a curb while making a U turn. It left a 1 inch slice/flap on the sidewall. Its not that deep and did not cause it to leak. I tried to super glue it closed with little success.

Then a few days later I realized that the tire was leaking air, but the source is a screw in the tire.

My question. These are new Yokohamos that have like 3500 miles on them. Do i really need to buy a new tire bc of the sidewall issue?? or can i just get the screw fixed and patched and move on?

Thanks for any insight. Obv i dont want to buy a new tire

Well i guess the following segment pretty much answers my question

f you have any sort of slash, nail, or buldge in your sidewall where the writing is and not on your tread. Then the tire needs to be replaced. Sidewall damage is very dangerous because it can cause a blowout while driving and lead to an accident. Be sure to get your tire changed as soon as possible if you find any sidewall damage. Tread damage can usually be repaired no problem.

I would see ifyour tire warranty would coverit. If you do not have it play dumb and go back to where you bought the tires.
