Alright well its been a month now since i bought the xB and the car is great overall. Their are just a few little things that they could have done to make the car perfect...
I dont think the armrest is large enough, its too thin for my big arms
The passengers need arm rest too!
at first i didn't like that the accelerator pedal was so soft, my old Jeep has a heavier spring on the pedal which made it a little more comfortable to operate, i am used to it now though.
It would be nice if ALL the interior lights turned on once you opened the door, not just the center
I would like under dash lighting
Their are a few other things that i didnt exactly like but i guess they just did it to keep cost down...
Glass is kind of thin
Carpet is cheap
Allot of road noise
Rear seat doesn't have a center drop-down console
So what do you guys not like about your xB, be picky, really picky, i just want to see what others think. |

driver only gets a arm rest cuz its the "Captians chair"
uh i think they could have done better on the price of the s/c and padding on the interior pannels..not many complaints
clutch is alittle weird too. |

Front windshield sun visors need extensions, so that when you have them turned against the driver side & front passenger side windows they might actually block the sunlight from your eyes.
A light inside the glove box would have been nice also, since we get pulled over at night for tinted windows, HIDs, and tinted tail lights. |

| The plastic interior can be easily scratched and the C pillar should be more useful... or at least include the net for it. |

A couple more power outlets would be nice.
Get rid of armrest and make center console larger & taller so either driver or passenger could use it as armrest.
Make the sun visors thinner so my garage door opener would fit on it. |

Do you mean the dome lights? I thought they all had a switch on them for "off, door, and on" |

| I wish we could have got the blue LED display that the JDM version has. I just hate amber lights on the dash. Other than that I am really happy with my box. |

Gets way to hot
engine light comes on for no apparent reason (according to scion)
Exterior:
Needs more/better paint coats
Functional front air ducts
2 reverse lights or move them into the tail lights

I would have liked a variably intermittent windshield wiper.
I would have liked more ILLUMINATED switches for nighttime driving:
-The rheostat for adjusting the intensity of instrument lighting.
-Window switches. |

I think the XB is great Xcept for the CHEAP interior and PAINT.
The interior and paint would have been a deal breaker for me had I known. The interior and paint scratch and chip so easy it has me worried on how this car will look in 3 years.
The dash material REALLY scares me, if a certain part of it gets scratched (like if you breath on it to hard) then its all over and your stuck with it.
Since I'm barely upside down I'm actually truly considering trading it in for an X3. I hate telling people to "let the seatbelt back slowly or you will scratch my car" or "please don't put your phone right there it might slide an scratch the car"
Besides those 2 things (which are big to me) I think the XB is GREAT. 99% of peoples complaints can be fixed/cured with mods. |

The paint could have used another layer or 2 of clearcoat. If you look at it wrong it scratches. Same with the dash.
The accelerator delay is a PITA, especially on hills. I am an experienced manual transmision driver, yet after nearly 10 months of driving the xB, I still occasionally stall out if I let my attention drift a bit.
One very weak backup light. What was Scion thinking?
I added a power outlet myslef way in back next to the rear light. It's powered all the time, not only when the car is on like the front console outlet. When I get some time I'll be putting in another somewhere near the front.
The rear of the back seats are pretty weak. Can't put very much weight on them before they start to bend.
For me, the driver's armrest is a useless appendage. Too small and too far back. |

well that sucks, I actually enjoy both of mine. Whats the point of getting the Gen2 if you hate the Gen1?
Only gripe I have is the "inevitable" weight due to the size of the new xB. When I drive my Gen1 (which I do 90 % of the time) Im not tired at all after a 2+ hour trip. If I drove the Gen 2, im tired after 2+hours....
after that, I think Scion has a good car, but not the best.. |

pure pricing,
basically you can not negotiate the price of the car no matter how much you put down. etc...etc... car is simply at a set price. |
