Man, how do you get that aweful smell out of your cloths and hair? I think now that I sat in one, I am offically GAY.
Just kidding... Although I just do not see how it adds anything to the line other than giving the sales people something to toss to a young buyer who cant afford a carolla.
First off it felt much like a coupe, the seat was low, dash and everything was laid out in a nice reach. Seems strange to have the guages in front of the steering wheel, must be something they do on cars for the American market or something?
The sun roof sure made the car feel like a convertible and gave the car a very open feeling despite the front pillar giving a good blind spot.
Although the seat had a lot of adjustments the xa lacked, my right thigh was pinned against the steering wheel and center dash board.
I could drive the car in an emergency, but it really lacked in the leg room dept. Something the taller seat in the xa gives you more of.
I sat in an xd and man, other than driver side dash, it was fine.
FYI, even the prius my knee was jammed against the gear selector, so leg room is an issue for me in any car. |

| Lacks leg room? I'm 6'3" and have zero issues with leg room. My seat still has room to move back. |

| i love my interior now with the new seats, i def recomend getting a set of aftermarket seats (corbaus, recaros, sparco, brides) they all sit about 1" lower but provide a more comfortable ride and more room :P |

???? I am 330 lbs, 6,2 and with the seat all the way back and steering wheel all the way up. I had my heel positioned so I can rotate my foot to hit the brake and gas with my size 14s and my inner thigh was pinned against the back of the steering wheel and the other side against the center dash. I guess I could of more my foot more toways the brake petal, but that would make it more uncomfortable to twist my foot sideways to hit the gas.
Nothing like a recaro seat with full heat, cooling. I just wished they included the side air bag too.

dude, why are you in this forum picking a fight. there are lots of faults i could find with my gf's xa, like the hamster on a wheel that it has for an engine, and the center mount gauges are irritating because they are completely out of my line of sight, etc. you don't like the tc, it sounds like you don't the seating position,
the reason why the xa/xb/echo and lots of other cars that are sold internationally have center mount gauges is simple, money, it is cheaper to make one dashboard for left hand and right hand drive cars so all they have to do is move the steering wheel, while the tc is sold only in america, and therefore only has a left hand drive configuration.
now stop picking fights with tc owners, we are scions united by individuality. thank you and goodnight. |

| He's putting in his honest opinion, no where was he bashing tC's. You two need to grow up, especially the 17 year old. And drax talking about the xA's motor being small, a standard xA can out accelerate an automatic tC, I've done it. tC's aren't that fast stock, and they're not really meant to be, they're still economy cars. The power to wight ratios aren't that far off. Besides, HP isn't the only factor for speed. |

sorry no, stock manual tc does 0-60 in 7.4 seconds, the auto is slower ofcourse, but a manual xa can only do 0-60 in 9 seconds, i've ridden in stock automatic tc's, they are faster then stock manual xa's,
to cobb, i say this forum, scionlife, i didn't say the xa forum, i meant the whole forum in general. the whole scion brand is to attract younger buyers to toyota, not for people who can't afford a corolla, it was also a replacement for the celica.
the xa is for people who want the reliability, affordability and fuel economy of an echo, but don't like how boring it is, or want a hatchback instead of a sedan.
as for your thigh being caught up against the steering wheel, the steering wheel goes up and down, and so does the lower the seat cushion, it can go up and down.
blind spots, yeah, the pillars are all pretty thick.
leg room, i have to say that driving my gf's xa long distance, my legs were really getting annoyed by the position they rested on the floor and pedals, and the lack of standart cruise control make it a grueling drive. |

I miss my 240d, I use to drive with my arms out in front of me as well as used my toes to work the petals with my legs fully extended. The drivers seat of most benzes will go back a few extra inches than the passenger side seat so it hit the front of the rear seat.

Boooo, fail! Heh yeah kind of a fail thread. I mean I drove a Tc and I like the Tc. But was not sorry I got the xA. I say it's kind of like "what moves you" and leave it at that.
So many things I love about my xA but so many things I would like improved :) 1st would be the center dash/suspension and an engine that can handle more PSI :) The Tc has all this and more.
So the +/- are to me based on ones wants/needs and lifesytle. |

| I was merely being a smart*ss. I think it's funny that some people get so worked up over something as trivial as a strangers opinion on a forum about the model of car they drive. It's so silly. |

As far as the tC being for people who can't be a Corolla:
Corolla Base Sticker price: $15,250
tC Base Sticker price: $17,600
Hmm... Not to mention the Corolla's price can be negotiated since it's a Toyota. |

What? haha, I'm not sure I get the way you worded that. One thing I've noticed is about 80% of the time I see an older xB or an xA, there's an (old) person driving it, no one my age. |
