| Posted: 8/25/08 10:28AM Post subject: Is the S/C for an automatic Tc worth buying?? |
|
|
Ive got an automatic tc, w/ a few mods, and i was looking into buying the s/c.
I've heard from outside sources that it is, and some say that it isnt (worth buying). I know its not going to increase hp that much. Just wondering if anyone has the s/c on an automatic tc, and what they think of it??
btw already searched and didn't find anything useful.
Thankx |

Well, it will give you up to 25% increas in HP so it's up to you whether or not it's worth it.

| i have a s/c on my 06 auto and i think its worth it. it def. wakes up the auto. the fastest i had mine was 15.32 in the 1/4 and i was pretty much stock. when it was just an intake and exhaust, i had it at 16.2 so i was pretty happy with the addition of the s/c. |

| dont have a auto but i think it's worth it. i have a 5 speed and it does make driving a bit more fun. if i were you i would consider putting on header and s pipe before the s/c. it will give you alittle more hp on top of the s/c. trust me you dont want to add header after the s/c is installed. it will be a PITA to put it on after. good luck boosting. |

| will the dealer that installs the s/c frown on an individual who brings their tC in for the install if they have aftermarker headers? might want to look into that as well. |

A dealer will install anything because its work and money to them. They could care less whats on it. |

but make sure you ask around from people local to you to find out which dealership has had the most experience with installing the s/c. |

It's amazing on the auto (thread here). Unlike the manual, the auto s/c is full bore all the time. That's why you pay the 50 bucks to remap the MAF sensor. Get ready to pay for 91 octane gas. The car with the s/c can get 30 MPG, but you have to keep your foot off the right pedal, which can be very hard
The Bosch 110 BPV is highly recommended.
