|
|
i'm getting bored with my wheels so i've been looking to pick up a set of "green" wheels for the TC, more commonly known as Takata Green.
there is a guy selling 17x8 +53 subaru BBS's powdercoated in takata green, only problem is they are 5x114.3. i could get adapters that will let me fit them, but they will add an inch and possibly push the wheel out too far, not to mention the adapter threads are 1.25, and them being OEM subbie wheels i'd probably need stock subbie lugs but i may be wrong.
then again, i COULD get the wheels redrilled to 5x100 but thats a very last resort...
all in all, a lot of work to get these wheels to fit. but the guy is selling em dirt cheap, and they've never even been ran.
then there are these Volk CE28Ns i have my eye on. 17x7.5 +43 5x100. a little skinny for my taste but hey, they'll fit without problem. so i mocked up some shitty photoshops and want your opinions. yay or ney

| i'd rather powdercoat your existing wheels than pay alot for wheels that wont fit right. |

| Green or not... the trouble of getting the wrong pattern to work does not seem worth it. |

There is a lot of blue in the mica gray, and in combination with the green, distinctly reminds me of the seattle seahawks.

The Volks would look pretty slick.
IMO, there's too much work in getting the BBS wheels to fit. |

thanks for the opinions all.
yeah the BBS's are too much of a hassle
as for the Volks, he's asking too much for them being used plus the specs don't exactly pleast me 100% even though i think they look sick.
guess im going a different route *wink* |

poop, even the Takata Time Attack Subaru doesn't have green wheels...
Good call on doing something other than buying the original two green sets, just not worth it IMO. There are some other real good deal on NASIOC though. Someone was selling a set of sweet Advans, and painting them whatever color you want before he ships them. I'll try to find the link...
EDIT: Found the link...

i ended up going with Volks but not the green ones, another different set which i couldnt pass up at that price, but i dunno if i'm gonna keep them or what cause they might not flow well with flint mica. i'll see next week when they come in.
if i had a SW tc i would have probably gone with the green volks. |
