Alot of us buy a premade one.
You can get them here.

| When I took apart my gauges to change the color of the lighting, I scanned my gauge face at something like 600DPI. I've been slowly working on it since, though I've kind of hit a wall, admittedly. |

| or, you can get a pre made photoshop template, and design your own, and print to cardstock, or take to a sign shop to be printed to cast vinyl :) |

it's all good!
I sold one to an ebay seller who has a roland vinyl printer and he does really great work, good prices and quich shipping. he has lots of premade designs and also does custom work if you are not photoshop capable. his ebay user name is "Scarysuzuki" and his stuff is worth checking out, but if you want to do a 100% one of a kind custom guage face and print at home or local, the template i made is a good way to go....
please excuse the SHAMELESS self promotion :) |

...Drop the kelometers and feel free to use poetic license to exagorate your box top speed. Use 10 mph increments to avoid doing math and extrapolating every time you see a cop.
