| Go AEM. Uego, Boost, Oil press. A nice digital number is easy to read when your WOT instead of trying to line up a needle point with a number. |

| 2 most important are Uego and Boost, EGT is pointless if you have a Uego (Wideband 02) |

Listing from most important:
1) Boost
2) Wideband AF/R
3) Oil Pressure
I have Defi Racer Blue boost and oil pressure gauges, and an AEM wideband. I haven't gotten to them install them yet, but I have played around with them and they are pretty cool. |

LOL
I hope you're not a tuner at SP.. I REALLY hope they have tuners with much more knowledge than to say something as silly as that..

| yup EGT gauge is important too, there is more to tuning than afrs itself.. EGT gauge is useful that oil pressure gauge when it comes to tuning purposes |

Really? How important is it? We build an tune 1000 HP cars and we dont use them!
If your AFR is correct then Knowing your EGT is pointless. If you dont have a WB and you want to tune with am EGT gauge be my guest... but why would you try and tune AFR with an EGT gauge... would you not want to know what the AFR's are?
If the EGT's are hot... what do you do? Adust fuel!!!
and yes I tune cars... and I have NEVER tuned with an EGT gauge... When I went to AEM certification they never mentioned EGT Tuning...

Are you flippin' serious??
Hot EGTs are only adjusted with fuel??? Have you heard of TIMING? Have you heard that people tune AFR and Timing based on W/B values and EGT??
Have you heard that EGTs are necessary for tuning sustained elevated HP applications? Do you even know why EGTs exist? Do you understand the principles of heat in relation to HP and exhaust pulse velocities? |

Oh - and I need to add - you need to keep in context here.
We're talking about Scions without a full standalone management system - you're comparing that to Supras with very capable systems that have great datalogging capabilities.
Answer this question - with a piggy-back that doesn't datalog knock values - how are you able to tune your timing table safely? By looking at AFR?
Another question - why does AEM EMS include ports (up to 4) for EGTs? You can tune EMS based on EGT - why would they include that capability if it's useless??? |

Yeah we use Knock for timing on the EMS... I use My Snap on scanner for Knock and correction on the TC with the FIC. I would never trust an EGT for that... I would rather see real values than a temperature gauge.
Why would you tune an EMS with EGT's?
What Piggybacks are most of you guys using? we are working on a PRO EFI 48 box that has worked wonders in the 350z's |

i say oil pressure so you can read and catch problems with rods oil pump and all that stuff.
lubrication is a VERY important aspect. |
