is it possible to remove the spedometer and its housing, and put a big tach in is place? it seems like it would work, and the tach would fit right inplace in the indention in the dash...
i was thinking it would look nice to get a black tach.. with a shift light, and then buy a the guage pod that goes behind the steering wheel and put a small spedometer and a temp guage.
what do you guys think? |

I'm not sure there is enough room for the tach depth wise.
You would also need a temp and gas guage in the dash-but al is cool, I was kinda thinking along the same lines but I don't like monster tachs so I was thinking maybe a 2nd gen guage set-up in that place. |

| yea, i forgot about the gas guage lol, well maybe have a pod on the pillar with those three. and i would like to find a tach that is the same size pretty much as the one already there. and i would only want black so it isnt flashy or anything. |

it can be done, there is a thread on here about how to swap the speedometer and tachometer on the tc so the tach is in the center and the speedo is to the side.
so it could be done, you just gotta figure out how and how much. |

| i found some tachs that are about the same size as the spedo houseing for about 80, then a pillar pod is like 60? and then probably another 70 to 100 for the three guages. so im guessing it would be cheap if there are no problems along the way and the tach fits right.. eh.. i want to do it and have enough money.. but i juuusst got my xb last week and i am leaning toward lowering it and putting an exhaust on it right now. |

I would work on that kind of stuff first (personal preference) then I have more of a reason to watch the tach.
There are a lot of performance things that can be done cheaply while you look for exactly what you want to do.
There are some turbo xb's out there where people have done all sorts of guage things and I have seen them installed all over the dash-lots of flat surfaces. |

| With enough work, anything is possible. You can also switch the wiring and get a new speedo face so your speedo needle is the tach and the tach needle is your speedo. |
