| So today I realized that I had no antifreeze in my coolant reservoir. After a little looking around I realized that there is a crapload of crystallized antifreeze surrounding my waterpump. Anyone have any idea how much to repair this? Or how hard it would be to do it myself? |

that's kinda weird, it sounds like the seal that the waterpump is supposed to make against hte engine went bad. simple fix.. head to a shop and have them do it, engine tempuratures are very important to maintain.
can we see a picture? easier to diagnose when theres a picture too |

| This is something you should have a shop do. It's a lot of work. And dont just replace the seal, replace the pump and belt too. If theyre down there you might as well get everything done at the same time. |

| well the shop will most likely do a leak test and pressurize your system to find the leak. waterpumps are easy to install. |

| Well doing a little research, water pumps are covered under the drivetrain warranty. So I think I might just take a trip by the stealership. I could get a rental for free maybe too. Good thing i noticed now, I have like 47,500 on the odometer. Another few weeks and I would have been screwed. |

Mine is doing the same thing and I'm at 35,800 mi on my '06 tC.
This isn't the first I've heard of this failure too, 3 members of my team have had this issue with their tC's as well, so far all before their 60k's are up, so lucky them.
I'd urge people to check.
I take my car in on tuesday for this, an issue with the rear hatch lining (covering the airbags) is falling off, and the rear roof glass surroundings are also sagging from broken clips as well...
The clips were replaced before, but those hatch liners are still messed up, and still not flush with the rest of the headliner pieces back there, and I had them look at the rear sunroof portion at that repair also, and they just simply didn't fix it... So I'm glad I have all of this stuff in for repair before my 36k is up, because I plan to come back in even after 36k if these issues pop up again... |
