| Posted: 8/31/08 8:01PM Post subject: Need help with ignition wiring for Defi Racer gauges |
|
|
| I have a Defi Racer boost gauge and oil pressure gauge I need to install. I've searched all around the forums to figure out where I can a wiring diagram for the ignition harness. Can anyone tell me what the color of the wires are for a 12v constant power, 12v when the ignition is on, a 12v illumination wire when the lights are on, and a ground. If anyone can help me out figuring out what the colors of the wires are, I would appreciate it! |

where do you want it tapped? the best thing to do is use a multimeter and you will be sure rather than going by colors.. I tapped power for my EDFC before on my radio harness and some wires are stripped with 2 colors
there's a post in here with wiring diagram, ill try to search again.. but i advise you to always verify it with a multimeter, or else you could drain your battery if you tap it wrong |

| I will definitely use a multimeter, I just wanted to know where to start when I tested. I'm going to be mounting the gauges in an a pillar pod, so wherever it would easiest to tap into. |

I believe it is. My guess is the gauges dim when the lights are on. |

| even still id rather just hook it all up to a 12v switched source(ignition). simplify things a bit. thats just me but to each their own. |

| I believe if i do what you mentioned, I'd lose the shut down ceremony that the defi gauges perform. |
