|
|
Well, I tried going through some of the topics to see if these were answered. I got an 06 tC about a month ago, and I decided to start modding it. I want to do some appearance mods to make it look nicer. First question is about the Lip spoilers, how do they attach. Will I have to fiberglass/mold it on? I was kinda liking the RS1 Lip. Second question has to do with grills available, and installation. I searched ebay and found a few diffrent sets. The VRD look ok, and look like an easy install, but I like the figurellc and johnnydesignz grills better. Are they hard to install? and what is the difference b/w the figurellc and the jd grill? Other than price, they seemto look the same? I would love to save as much money as possible, but I dont wanna get a crappy set. Anybody have suggestions?

you can mold lip kits on if you want, most use 3m tape or screws or both... grilles are easy to install, material, quality and fitment is what seperates the grilles.

The RS1 Lip kit is an easy install and it goes right on stock parts. Recommend using some double sided 3M tape to make it fit nice n tight. As for the grills i have the VRD bottom and a badgeless one on top.....

Would it be a good idea to buy the less expensive grilles? The feedback looks good. Also, is there a reccomended site to get an RS1 lip w/o getting way overcharged on shiping? Thanks

Well if you go to racing solutions they will charge you 350.00 + shipping unless you live in SoCal then you can go pick it up. But the RS1 lips is nice!!

Yea, I'm in South Dakota. So, other than paying $350 for shipping there is no other place to buy them. I thought someone would have a "secret" site, lol. Looks like I am going with the Black JohnyDezinz grills for $75 , and I will have to wait on the RS1 lip until funds are more plentiful, lol. Is there another lip that looks as good. kinda stopped looking after i saw the RS1, thanks for all the help.

I sure will, ordered it today. I also asked them about "group buys"(it says to at the bottom of the auction) just to see what kind of discount they offered, and they said with 10 orders they'd do 60 each. I think it is a new compny, but they have 100% feedback, and all the scion tc buyers had good things to say. Plus it looks like I will have to spend more than I anticipated on the RS1 lip cuz shiping is crazy expensive, so any money I can save is a good thing, lol

I got the grilles, and they look and fit great! I am very pleased with the fitment, and quality of them. I would def have to recomend these ones  . I'd snap some pics, but i lost my digi cam, and all my money is going into mods right now. Now I just need to find a ebay seller that has a RS1 lip for half the price, and that doesn't want a small fortune to ship it, lol.

Hopefully i can get my buddy tobring his camera by this week. I also noticed that there are these brakets that came with the grills so you dont have to drill. They stck to the tabs that you would normally drill through, and you zip tie to those. I didnt us em cuz i already had the holes drilled from when i had the figs before. thought that was pretty coll too. i am still very happy with the grills though.

but the five axis lip is soooo sexy. plus the five axis grill will be lonely without the five axis lip. then they might want to get freaky and invite some five axis wheels.

Man that is an AWESOME deal. Id jump on it. I cant remember how much it cost me to paint it, but I took it to toyota, so im sure it was more expensive than if you just take it to a regular shop and get it paint matched.
