| id say not significant unless there is also a boost in economy or a significant boost in power |

179/172 for the Rav4 version. The current tC produces more power than the previous Rav4, so odds are it will be around 180/180. |

wow, that would acctually be pretty cool, but they find better ways to raise power other then just raising displacement...
and i know sure as hell this will be more of a gas guzzler, 2.5 is stepping into v6 territory |

| 9.8:1 compression, it'll do fine on low boost and 93 octane, just like the 2AZ-FE. |

A 6spd w/ LSD would be nice... at least a LSD.
I see the motor has Dual VVTi too. |

| toyotas 3.5L v6 is so efficient and light weight that they should just stop F-ing around with these large 4cylinders and just put the v6 in their cars. either that or go the other way and make the car efficient. I would love to have an xB but it either needs to sacrifice 1mpg and get the 269hp v6 or it needs to get 5mpg better and use a 2.0L 4. But as of now you get almost the mpg of a v6 with the power of a 4. sucks. |

thread starter are you SURE this is the motor thats going in the new tC? or are u just speculating cuz its in the new rav4? reason i ask is cuz toyota is releaseing a new crossover vehicle called the Venza and it will come with a v6 (same as camry) and also a 2.7 liter I4. i thought that would be a fine platform as well since it will already be in production however no numbers were given last time i searched on the motor.

if they can keep sum sort of fuel efficiency in this 2.7 i dont see why not just go for that. with the help of dual vvti it should pull out sum more efficient ponies. 200 or 210 shouldnt be an issue for a 2.7 but ur saying they will use a 2.5 i just wanna know how ur sure. thats all.
Edit: Scratch that. its not a dual vvti 2.7 just regular kind vvti lol |
