I like it, but it's not as "sporty" as the old Alteeza... They made it more plush and luxurious. Which is not bad, but I expected them to come back with a G35 fighter.

did you read the specs? Over 300hp, and 0-60 in under 6.0 seconds. . . I don't know what would be a G fighter if this weren't it.

Well I meant in terms of body style.

And the IS350 comes with a standard AUTO transmission

yeah. . . standard means you don't have to PAY extra for it. There has always been a manual transmission option, six months after it was first introduced. I'm assuming they will do the same with this model, as it is a hot seller in europe.

From the pictures, the new IS350 dosn't look too nice... But I'll need to see it in person to really make a judgement.

The GS430 was the same way. . . everyone on the lexus boards hated it, by the pics. But when you see it in person, the car has a much different presence. I'm hoping that it'll be the same way with the IS350

The side profile makes me think I have an answer for the people that have asked me if the tC comes in a 4-door...

And for a mere $42,000 why not pick up 2?

:P

I think Lexus is more worried about the 3 than the G.

yeah. . . they timed the release to matched the official specs with the 3 series. . . as it makes better business to gun for the industry standard, rather than the industry bargain (the G is a great car, no offense). But indirectly, this is going to be series competition for the G, as Lexus runs with the same type of "bargain" advantage as the G.

It is scheduled as an 06 model, could be anywhere from the end of the year to early next year.

yeah no stick...but it does have paddle shifters!...maybe worth it

i like the overall design, love the current.

The ears on the IS350 can go...a lil too big for my liking....maybe going back to the supra roots? Long nose for that optional v8??? haha
The interior is a huge improvement....like the gauges too

All that power seems nice, although it looks like one heavy ish! Nice front, very Euro back end. Not as appealing to me as the IS300 though. This one is more on the luxary side, which makes sense for lexus. Now they shoudl spruce up the tC to IS300 styling and components, perhaps power ?! :P

They're definitly worried about the 3 than the G, becuase the G actually sells. If you dig up the numbers, the 350 only sold about 10k cars...which is pathetic, compared to the class leading bmw 3-series, which sold 120k. Sorry lexus, still not a bimmer-beater..and never will be.
